Neogen continuously strives to be a place where the best and brightest want to work, and to be the type of organization that our home communities want as a neighbor and preferred employer.

Neogen provides quality compensation, benefit products and services that enable employees to attain physical and financial well-being, and the company continuously works with its global workforce to enhance the health and safety of each employee.

Neogen is extremely proud of all the employee opportunities it has created since its founding in 1982, and all the charitable organizations and causes that it supports in its global communities.

Neogen, and its employees, support endless causes with their wallets and sweat equity. Just one example is the recent donation of more than $1,000,000 by our Executive Chairman James Herbert and his wife Judi toward the creation of the Herbert-Herman Cancer Center in Lansing. The center will be part of the Lansing-based Sparrow Health System.

You may know that we at Neogen are in the food and animal safety business, but did you know we’re also now experts in organizing races? Well, maybe not experts, but we have two under our belt now.

This year saw the second annual Neogen 5K, a walk/run in Lansing, Michigan that raises money for Sparrow Health System’s Herbert-Herman Cancer Center. The center, which opened just last year, bears the name of Neogen founder and executive chairman James Herbert.

This year, over $20,000 was raised for the cancer center by race sponsors, participants and donors. A total of 231 participants — including two wearing full-body T-rex suits — walked and ran from Oak Park in front of Neogen’s headquarters in downtown Lansing, through the city’s Eastside neighborhood, and looped back up to the park.
